The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising the daily janitorial
operations of commercial or residential properties. This includes securing and
maintaining accounts, scheduling and overseeing the janitorial staff, ensuring
that the property is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, and
resolving any issues. The Janitorial Supervisor will also ensure that all
safety protocols are followed, and that the janitorial staff is adequately
trained and equipped to carry out their duties. The ideal candidate will have
strong organizational and communication skills, a proven track record in
supervising staff and achieving results, and an excellent eye for detail.
Duties
- Secure new accounts by providing cleaning bids based on the clients specific needs
- Maintain positive client relationships with regular communication and updates and addressing any concerns regarding the facility cleanliness
- Oversee janitorial staff, ensuring that daily cleaning tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard. This includes conducting regular inspections of the facilities to ensure standards are met and to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules to ensure sufficient staff are scheduled to cover all areas
- Tracking and maintaining supply inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost effective purchasing
- Ensure that all janitorial equipment and supplies are properly used and maintained
- Implement training programs to ensure staff proficiency in cleaning procedures and safety protocols
- Provide support, guidance and training to janitorial staff.
- Ensure all health and safety policies are adhered to
Qualifications
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Valid KS Drivers License
- Bi-Lingual is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in managing janitorial teams and operations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate business needs
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to multi-task and work under pressure with strong time management skills
- Strong Leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals and equipment
- Ability to manage a budget and track expenses effectively
