Purpose: Maintain the bakery bar and its condiments with a focus on freshness, food safety, and guest hospitality during both opening and closing shifts.
Core Responsibilities
- Arrive on time to your scheduled shift.
- Follow all food safety guidelines and temperature requirements.
- Follow all uniform and apron policies throughout your shift.
- Wear appropriate non-slip footwear for safety.
- Use wet floor warning signs when floors are slippery.
- Communicate with a Manager or Supervisor if any item, supply, or product is running low.
- Accurately complete and turn in all waste tracking sheets (if applicable).
- Work together as a team to deliver great food and genuine hospitality to every Guest.
Bakery-Specific Duties
- Greet Guests with eye contact and answer any questions about bakery items.
- Set up all bakery bar products at the start of your shift when scheduled for opening.
- Perform full cleaning, sanitizing, and proper storage of bakery and condiment items when scheduled for closing.
- Maintain hot holding temperatures of 135°F or above for items like muffins, breads, and melted butter.
- Keep cold toppings and condiments (e.g., whipped butter, spreads) at or below 41°F.
- Restock bakery items and condiments frequently to ensure freshness and visual appeal.
- Replace trays or containers that show residue, crusting, or product degradation
- Ensure all product signage is accurate, clean, and properly placed.
- Follow FIFO rotation and apply “Use First” stickers where needed.
- Discard any item touched by Guests and record all waste immediately.
- Maintain full stock of dessert plates, napkins, and utensils throughout the shift.
- Communicate with the Manager about any low or backup product levels.
- Support other areas of the restaurant as assigned.
