Ostlund A Service Company is looking for an experienced Dispatcher with a strong understanding of the skilled trades (Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, or Facility Services).
This is not a basic call center role, this position is the heartbeat of our operations, coordinating technicians, managing customer expectations, and keeping jobs running efficiently from start to finish.

What You’ll Do
- Dispatch and coordinate technicians for service calls, projects, and emergency work
- Prioritize calls based on urgency, location, and technician skillset
- Act as the main point of communication between customers, technicians, and internal teams
- Monitor technician schedules, job progress, and route efficiency in real time
- Provide technicians with accurate job details, scope, and customer expectations
- Ensure jobs are properly documented, completed, and ready for billing
- Review work orders for accuracy, including not-to-exceed limits, materials, and labor
- Communicate updates, delays, and issues proactively to customers
- Assist in troubleshooting scheduling conflicts and last-minute changes
- Support technicians in the field with logistics, directions, and job information
- Maintain accurate records of calls, schedules, and job activity in dispatch software
- Ensure all required job checklists, photos, and documentation are completed
- Help drive customer satisfaction through clear communication and follow-up
What We’re Looking For
- Dispatch experience in a service-based or trade environment (REQUIRED)
- Experience in Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, or similar field service industry strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of how field technicians operate day-to-day
- Ability to prioritize and make quick decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both with customers and field teams
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple jobs, schedules, and priorities at once
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet
- Experience with dispatching or field service software is a plus
