Position Summary: The duties of the Buyer/Data Input & Maintenance Coordinator are to be performed by demonstrating Stan’s Merry Mart’s core values.
Salary: 27$/hr plus profit share
The responsibilities of the footwear buyer/data input and maintenance coordinator include: planning, selecting, and purchasing quantities of merchandise that are sold in the store, as well as inputting data into the system and ensuring that the data is accurate and maintained throughout the year. This person will review existing merchandise to ensure their products remain competitive both in price and selection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for adjustments to retail pricing and cost as needed for assigned departments
- Working knowledge of receiving and capable of assisting with receiving issue as relates to orders placed and received in assigned departments
- Input and manage data on a daily basis
- Placing and following up on replenishment orders to vendors on a scheduled basis
- Working with new vendors to set up accounts, ordering, reordering product, etc.
- Assist with organizational tasks for office work
- Numerous other tasks will be added as the job progresses
- Multitasking between data input, buying and other office tasks
- Ability to be flexible with schedule when required
- Keep up to date on current and future trends
- Communicate with merchandising team to analyze data and capitalize on opportunities
- Analyze and interpret sales and market trends
- Create and develop promotions that drive product volume and profitability
- Anticipate future needs and opportunities and think creatively to deliver successful product strategies
- Attend buyer shows to connect with vendors and establish new product connections
- Responsible for working collaboratively with the other buyers within the organization to streamline processes, buying and merchandising
- Will work closely with the store leadership team as well as the inventory team to address merchandising and inventory opportunities, with a heightened collaborative effort to maintain visual presentation and in stocks during the 4th quarter.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Vast knowledge of Microsoft Excel in order to input data into the system
- Learn and interpret technical rules, regulations, and instructions
- Perform detailed work related to purchasing with judgment, accuracy, confidentiality and promptness
- Maintain and prepare records, files and reports
- Interact with the stores/staff/public in a helpful, courteous and friendly manner
- Must be willing to accept feedback from the store leadership on opportunities within the footwear department
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Excellent quantitative and computer skills. Analytical and mathematical knowledge with the ability to make sound decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask as the needs of the job can change quickly
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
- Ability to work in a fast-paced growing organization
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend and stoop, grasp products, and climb ladders.
- Must be able to bend and lift loads, not to exceed 25 lbs. unassisted and able to push and pull carts with products
