Occupational Therapist Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- License from the State of Texas as an Occupational Therapist
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Experience in the home care setting is preferred but not required.
- Pediatric experience is a plus but not required.
Occupational Therapist Role (OT):
- Perform evaluations, re-evaluations, and establish individualized plans of care.
- Provide a wide range of occupational therapy interventions focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care/activities of daily living (ADLs), and visual-motor integration, while consulting with other staff and the child's caregivers.
- Complete documentation to support the delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
- Measure performance and report on patient’s medical record.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as appropriate.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards.
- Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge.
