Position Summary:

Responsible for managing all aspects of

the industrial mechanics department. This includes managing the upkeep of all

manufacturing assets, managing the mechanical budget and resources, and

assisting in the design and installation of new systems. In addition, this

position is responsible for managing multiple shifts for industrial mechanics personnel.


Job Duties:

·        

Performs maintenance management by supervising maintenance personnel and establishing priorities in maintenance schedules.

·        

Maintains manufacturing assets and facility parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders,i nvoice approvals, and manages the department budget.

·        

Manages maintenance personnel by setting direction and priorities.

·        

Provides training and continuous development for all maintenance personnel.

·        

Performs evaluations for direct reports at least every quarter.

·        

Drives the maintenance and reliability initiative focused on preventive and predictive maintenance, not reactive.

·        

Performs other duties by coordinating work with outside inspections providing project management, ensuring safety of personnel, and performing other duties as required.

·        

Communicates with engineers concerning machinery.

·        

Manages, maintains, and establishes maintenance procedures for production lines in a food manufacturing environment to ensure production meets or performs as required.

 

Responsible for following all food safety policies and procedures, current SQF code, Good manufacturing practices GMP’s), SSOP’s and HACCP.

·        

Develops and maintains safety standards for personnel.

·        

Develops personnel skills by conducting training meetings; one on one development sessions.

·        

Monitors line efficiencies; monitoring labor cost; and other expenses.


Must be able to work a flexible schedule- work on call and able to work on down time including Saturdays and Sundays.


Qualifications/Skills:

·        

Must be able to read blueprints.

·        

Must be computer literate.

·        

Must be able to work under pressure to fix equipment.

·        

Troubleshoot equipment-Air or electrically operated 110V, 220V.

·        

Experience with tortilla and chip production machinery.

·        

Able to use forklift and manlift equipment.

·        

Welding experience– Stainless Steel

·        

Troubleshoot VFD drives.

·        

Understands PLCSystems

·        

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent

 

 

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

·        

Food manufacturing environment.

·        

Must be able to lift and move up to a minimum of 50 lbs.

·        

Subject to dust, noise, and odor

·        

Includes routine walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and visual activity.
