Quality Control
Position Summary
Implementation and support of quality control efforts to ensure that requirements for processing conform to quality standards. Maintain quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine sampling and inspection of ingredients, finished products and packaging.
- Assist Quality & Food Safety Manager with the initiation and follow-up of corrective and interim action plans related to non-compliance issues.
- Segregate and hold non-compliance finished products and ingredients according to Julio’s procedures.
- Ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, and Food Safety ProgramsFollow critical control point procedures per our HACCP Program Pre-Op documentation (ATP swab test)
- Calibrate laboratory equipment (pH meter, thermometers) as needed. Daily Scale Calibration check
- Conducts metal detector and nitrogen gas checks. Conduct operational sanitation checks (ATP swab test)
- Ensure products are made according to finished product specification forms.
- Performs routine net weight checks.
- Notify management immediately whenever any food safety and/or quality risk is observed.
Qualifications
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – WILL TRAIN
- Excellent communication skills (including listening, writing, speaking) required.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Ability to perform math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, percentages)
- Ability to conduct on-going interpersonal interactions, analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and the ability to navigate and research the Internet.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred English is required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Manufacturing environment in a food manufacturing facility.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move up to a max of 25 pounds.
- Employees will be subject to dust, noise, and odor.
- The physical activity of this position includes, but is not limited to routine walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing,pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, sitting, and visual activity.
