About the Role
The Service Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing day-to-day pool service operations, technician performance, routing, and customer experience within an assigned service region. This position balances people leadership with operational execution and serves as a key decision-maker responsible for driving efficiency, service quality, and team performance in a fast-growing pool service company.
This is a full-time, high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building strong teams while improving operational results.
What You’ll Do
Service Operations & Routing
- Own and optimize weekly service schedules, routes, and service calls
- Act as the primary owner of routing to ensure efficiency, balanced workloads, and on-time service
- Proactively adjust schedules based on staffing levels, weather conditions, or urgent service needs
Customer Experience Management
- Ensure a consistently high-quality customer experience across all service interactions
- Handle escalated customer concerns via phone, text, and email with professionalism and empathy
- De-escalate challenging situations while maintaining service standards and long-term customer trust
Team Leadership & Performance
- Oversee all aspects of the service team within your assigned region
- Support technician development, approve PTO, and manage scheduling needs
- Conduct performance reviews and provide clear, actionable coaching and feedback
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, and performance-based terminations in alignment with company SOPs
Staffing & Workforce Planning
- Manage technician headcount using the tech roster to meet service demand
- Partner with HR and leadership to support hiring and staffing needs
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels to support growth and operational stability
KPI Ownership & Continuous Improvement
- Establish, monitor, and analyze department KPIs related to service quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Use data and performance insights to implement operational improvements and corrective action plans
- Drive accountability and results through consistent performance tracking
Payroll & Administrative Oversight
- Oversee payroll processes for the service department, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Review and approve time tracking for technicians and supervisors
Training & Development
- Coach supervisors to ensure training programs are executed consistently for new hires and existing staff
- Ensure ongoing skill development and adherence to service standards
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Own coordination between the Service and Repair teams to ensure seamless operations
- Work closely with Fleet and Inventory teams to ensure vehicles, tools, and parts are available and properly maintained
Qualifications
- Previous management experience in the pool industry, home services, or a related field
- Strong leadership, people management, and team development skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Experience managing schedules, routing, and service operations
- Ability to analyze KPIs and use data to drive performance improvements
- Experience with payroll, fleet, or inventory management
- Familiarity with field service management and routing tools
- Proven ability to lead teams through growth and operational change
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $55,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience
