URGENT – Day Porter / Commercial Cleaner Needed
Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Mass Commercial Cleaning (MCC) is seeking a dependable and professional Day Porter to support cleaning operations in Grade School / High School facilities. This
role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the day.
Experience preferred but not required — we provide on-the-job training.
Pay
· $18.00 per hour, based on experience and assignment
Position Summary
The Day Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and appearance throughout the facility during operating hours. This includes routine patrol of
indoor and outdoor areas, addressing immediate cleaning needs, supporting high-traffic periods (such as student lunch), and reporting maintenance or safety
concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, hallways, classrooms, offices, and common areas
- Clean and maintain front lobby areas, including glass, doors, carpets, and restrooms
- Empty trash and recycling; replace liners as needed
- Perform spot cleaning of glass, doors, scuff marks, and high-traffic areas
- Patrol exterior areas to remove trash and maintain curb appeal
- Assist with café/lunchroom cleaning during peak periods
- Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Provide general custodial support to ensure a clean, orderly environment throughout the day
Qualifications
- Janitorial, custodial, or facility maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and follow a routine schedule
- Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to cleaning
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and remain active throughout the shift
- Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with staff, students, and visitor
Work Schedule
· Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
· Some flexibility may be required based on facility needs
· No weekends
