Nationwide Refrigeration (NRI) is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Commercial Kitchen Equipment Installer to join our team in a full-time status.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, assembling, and servicing commercial-grade kitchen equipment for restaurants, hotels, institutional kitchens, and food service operations. This role involves working on-site to ensure equipment is safely and correctly installed according to manufacturer specifications, local codes, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Install and set up commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, ventilation systems, fryers, mixers, and more.
- Read and interpret blueprints, installation manuals, and schematics.
- Ensure all installations are compliant with local plumbing, electrical, and mechanical codes.
- Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and quality checks after installation.
- Collaborate with electricians, plumbers, contractors, and project managers on-site.
- Provide excellent customer service and address client questions or concerns during the installation process.
- Maintain accurate records of installations and services performed.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and lifting/moving equipment.
- Follow all company and job-site safety protocols and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial kitchen equipment installation or a closely related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with gas, electrical, and plumbing systems related to kitchen equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Able to pass a drug and background check.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification.
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to travel throughout Maryland, Virginia, and DC for multiple days at a time.
- Able to work occasional weekends or evenings, to include overnight stays, as required by the project.
Job Preferences:
- 10+ years’ experience in commercial kitchen equipment installation or a closely related field.
- Experience with ServiceTitan or similar technology.
- Ability to be badged at local, state, and federal government buildings.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- EPA 608 certification.
