Title: Shipping Coordinator

Pay: $19/hour with growth potential based on performance
Job Type: Seasonal, full-time OR part-time with flexible availability
Schedule: Monday - Friday, first shift (We’re open M-F, 9a-6p)
Job Summary:
The general responsibility of the Shipping Coordinator is to ensure that customer orders are securely packed and shipped on time with the correct documentation in order of priority. Please note that we need candidates who can coordinate shipping and returns with other departments and customers, NOT just packers or package handlers. This is not a traditional warehouse labor role.
The Shipping Coordinator must be proficient in UPS WorldShip and ShipWorks (experience with ShipStation is also helpful) as they will be responsible for using this software to schedule delivery and return shipping dates for customers, generate shipping labels, and track and manage delivery and receipt.
The Shipping Coordinator is the primary contact for the internal team and the customer to ensure delivery and receipt of costumes and merchandise. They will keep the team and customer apprised of risks, unexpected delays or disruptions to ensure excellent customer service and prevent loss of our costumes. The Shipping Coordinator will track package pickups and contact customers to resolve issues.
The Shipping Coordinator is also responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the shipping function at The Costumer, ensuring there are sufficient supplies, that tools and supplies are managed and stored properly, that the shipping and receiving area is kept clean and orderly, and coordinating with internal teams, UPS and FedEx to keep shipping and receiving working effectively—especially during our busy seasons.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates UPS WorldShip and ShipWorks software for shipping coordination.
- Assembles cardboard boxes or selects preassembled containers.
- Packs items into containers efficiently while ensuring costumes and merchandise is protected and arrives in good condition.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons.
- Assists with loading items on to shipping truck or trailer for pick up.
- Move received items to their respective departments or inventory locations
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years shipping and receiving experience
• Experience with UPS WorldShip software
• Experience with Bills of Lading, packing lists, packing/packaging and labeling
• Safely operate fork lift and pallet jack
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Demonstrated ability to read and follow verbal/written instructions
• US citizen or permanent resident
• Able to speak, read and write English
Physical Demands:
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision.
Personal Protective Equipment:
• Includes safety glasses and additional protection as required by law and safety policy.
Work Environment:
• Will be required to work in manufacturing & warehouse areas. Will be exposed to a noisy environment routinely.
