Assistant Manager - Fairbanks UMV

About the Company:
We are a customer-focused organization contracted with the Alaska DMV to complete DMV-related transactions for our clients. Our work requires a high level of accuracy, regulatory compliance, teamwork and customer service excellence in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Assist in supervising and supporting a team of 6 - 8 employees
- Lead by example through strong attendance and accuracy while enabling a customer-friendly, professional environment
- Manage and lead the team with guidance from the manager when needed.
- Process DMV transactions accurately and in compliance with state regulations
- Ensure branch adherence to all DMV policies, procedures, and contractual requirements
- Help manage and track key performance indicators including accuracy, attendance, and additional services
- Oversee ongoing training and skill development for staff
- Recommend and participate in corrective actions and performance improvement activities as needed
- Facilitate the achievement of branch goals
- Assist with escalated customer concerns and resolution
- Participate in interviewing and onboarding new employees
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming branch

Minimum Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age (Required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Valid Alaska driver's license or ID (Required)
- Proven experience leading a team, coordinating with senior leadership and managing workflows while motivating staff, resolving conflicts, and building teamwork.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and handle multiple projects.
- Analytical skills to handle issues and make sound judgments under pressure.
- Basic understanding of budgeting, inventory, or financial reporting.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and relevant software.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
- Able to type 40 WPM and use 10-key for data entry
- Capable of standing for long periods and lifting 50 lbs. regularly
- Ability to travel regularly within the Fairbanks region and occasionally within greater Alaska.
Hours:
- Office hours: Monday-Saturday, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
- Standard work schedule is Tuesday - Saturday
Compensation:
- Up to $60,000 per year (DOE)
- Audit accuracy bonuses
- Incentive bonuses
- Commissions on additional services
- Potential performance bonuses twice per year
Starting base pay will be determined by the candidate’s experience, qualifications and state wage requirements.
