Duke's La Jolla is currently seeking experienced LINE COOKS to join the team! If you are a friendly, energetic, team-oriented and positive-minded person, then we have a great opportunity for you. STARTING RATE: Wages start at $21-$23/hour based on experience. Hourly wage may increase as early as 30-days after training is completed based on the individual reaching and performing at or above our standards.


SCHEDULING:

  • Full time and part time positions available
  • Lunch Cooks: Weekdays (8:30AM-4:00PM) // Weekends (7:30AM-4:00PM)
  • Dinner Cooks: Weekdays (3:00PM-Close) // Weekends (2:30PM-Close)
  • Swing Shifts: Some swing shifts are available (12PM-8PM).
  • Start times are flexible depending on the candidate's needs

PREFERRED / REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • California Food Handler Certificate - Must be obtained within 30 days from hire date. Training provided if applicant does not have a valid California Food Handler Certificate.
  • 1 year external line cook experience preferred.
  • US Work Authorization required. We use E-Verify to confirm Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Knives will be provided but individuals may use their own set.

We take pride in our attentive and friendly service with fresh, quality coastal cuisine: our fish is never frozen, and our proteins are sustainably and ethically raised. Experience cooking in high volumes is a plus and you need to be able to remain calm under pressure.
