Role Summary
The Training Director is responsible for building, leading, and sustaining a best-in-class training culture that develops highly capable, confident, and consistent team members and leaders. This role ensures that operational excellence, service standards, food safety, and brand expectations are taught, reinforced, and executed at a high level every day.
This position requires prior Chick-fil-A experience, demonstrated mastery of restaurant processes, and full-time availability. The Training Director is expected to lead with clarity, credibility, and ownership, serving as both a teacher and a standard-bearer for the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Execution
- Design, implement, and continuously improve training systems for new hires, cross-training, and leadership development.
- Ensure all training aligns with Chick-fil-A brand standards, operational procedures, food safety requirements, and hospitality expectations.
- Own the onboarding experience to ensure new team members are confident, capable, and culture-aligned.
- Create clear training timelines, checklists, and certification benchmarks for each role.
Process Mastery & Standardization
- Serve as a subject-matter expert across all front-of-house and back-of-house roles.
- Ensure processes are taught accurately and consistently, reducing variation and rework.
- Identify gaps in execution and proactively retrain individuals or teams as needed.
- Partner with leadership to reinforce systems during shifts, not just in training environments.
Leadership Development
- Train and coach Certified Trainers and leaders on how to effectively teach, coach, and hold standards.
- Support leadership pipeline development by preparing high-potential team members for expanded responsibility.
- Model strong leadership behaviors including accountability, emotional intelligence, and professionalism.
Performance & Culture
- Use observation, feedback, and data to assess training effectiveness and adjust as needed.
- Reinforce a culture of excellence, care, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Scheduling, and Leadership teams to ensure training supports business needs.
- Uphold a high bar for performance while maintaining a supportive and encouraging environment.
Required Qualifications
- Prior Chick-fil-A experience
- Previous leadership experience
- Demonstrated mastery of Chick-fil-A operational processes (FOH and BOH)
- Proven experience training others and holding standards
- Full-time availability, including the ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- High attention to detail and process discipline
- Ability to lead with both warmth and accountability
- Alignment with Chick-fil-A values and the restaurant’s purpose
- Ability to build and scale training systems, as well as create training materials, guides, and tools
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
