Kitchen Shift Leader

A Shift Leader is one who consistently demonstrates our core values, embraces the Chick-fil-A culture and has a servant’s heart. Our Team Leaders are responsible for supporting senior leadership in executing daily operations and keeping team members accountable for each component of Operational Excellence and our Recipe for Service. A Team Leader’s two main areas of focus are completing tasks so that the restaurant runs effectively, and coaching/developing team members. Team Leaders lead by example and set the tone that others will follow. 


Position Type

  • Full-time with open availability, typically Monday-Saturdays. Sundays required when needed for special projects or meetings.

What You'll Do


  • Food Safety: Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing, glove usage, and cleanliness of workstations and equipment.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the kitchen area clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times. Follow cleaning schedules and end-of-shift cleaning procedures.
  • Food Preparation: Follow Chick-fil-A's recipes and preparation methods to ensure consistent and delicious food items are produced. This includes marinating, breading, grilling, and frying various menu items.
  • Cooking Expertise: Operate equipment, i.e. fryers, grills & ovens, with precision to cook items to correct temperature & quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality before using them in food preparation. Maintain standards for taste, appearance, and portion control.
  • Speedy Execution: Work efficiently to ensure fast preparation of orders during peak periods, collaborating with team members to maintain a steady workflow.
  • Order Accuracy: Communicate with the front-of-house team to ensure accurate order preparation, including special requests, modifications, and allergen considerations.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients, notifying supervisors when items are running low to prevent shortages.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow kitchen team members, demonstrating effective communication and teamwork to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Learning and Development: Participate in training and skill-building opportunities to enhance culinary skills and menu knowledge

  • Customer mindset with passion for food prep and a willingness to learn, follow instructions, and embrace new procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following recipes accurately and consistently.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to maintain a food safe work environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team setting.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in attendance and work schedule adherence. 
  • Excellent personal hygiene and grooming standards.
