Requirements:
- 18 years or older
- Worked at Chick-fil-A WCSP as a Supervisor for at least 12 months
- Able to meet the availability requirements
Reporting Structure & Summary:
- The Drive-Thru Director will report to the Operating Partner, and will also work closely with other Directors, Senior Supervisors, and Supervisors within the restaurant. They will help ensure a quick, accurate, and hospitable experience for our guests in the Drive-Thru.
- The Drive-Thru Director will enthusiastically plan, lead, and execute a successful Drive-Thru operation by focusing on efficiency, speed, accuracy, and hospitality. They will work closely with the Training Director to structure new and recurring training in the Drive-Thru. This leader is driven and focused on developing Hospitality Professionals to help meet the set goals for this area of the restaurant.
Hours and Schedule Requirements:
- The Drive-Thru Director must maintain an availability of 40-45 hours/week opening and/or closing the restaurant. They must live out the expectations on the Refresh Document, strive to meet the performance metrics set for them, and exemplify consistent leadership within the restaurant.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Innovation & Strategy: Create an innovative strategy around the Drive-Thru, its systems, materials, people, and goals. Research and stay current with the resources offered by Chick-fil-A or used at other stores. Work with other leaders to help cast the vision and set flow of the Drive-Thru at all times.
- Materials: Ensure all Drive-Thru items (iPads, card readers, outerwear, etc.) stay current and clean to both increase efficiency and maintain the professionalism of our Hospitality Professionals.
- Development & Accountability: Intentionally coach all leaders and Hospitality Professionals on the set systems and procedures set for the Drive-Thru. Be present during peak day parts to observe, teach, and provide feedback.
- Hospitality Professional Advancement: Seek out high-performing Hospitality Professionals in your area of the restaurant to train and develop them into leadership. Effective training and intentional time coaching will ensure the growth of Hospitality Professionals.
- Cleanliness and Presentation: Maintain exterior cleanliness and professional presentation of the Drive-Thru
- Behavior: Ensure a professional and positive work environment at all times. Live out our purpose to “refresh the lives of all we serve.”
- Documentation: Properly document any employee issues or disciplinary conversations and report any necessary actions to the Executive Director of Operations and the HR Department.
- Systems/Standards: Ensure all Chick-fil-A standards and store systems are being followed and executed, including policies and procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
- Communication: Communicate with the Training Director to ensure that all Drive-Thru training for each Hospitality Professional is completed. Communicate daily with the entire team about Drive-Thru goals and needs.
- Operational Time: Assist in store operations ~35 hours/week (scheduled time)
- Schedule: Plan ahead for each shift by reviewing set-ups and making adjustments as needed. Ensure that we are utilizing our talent in the best and most productive way (Aces in their places).
Performance & Metrics Evaluated Annually:
- Order Accuracy: achieves a 97% average or better for the year
- Overall Satisfaction: achieves a 77% average or better for the year
- Fast Service: achieves a 74% average or better for the year
- Labor Cost: achieves an average of 22% or lower for the year
- Food Cost: achieves an average positive gap of 1% or lower for the year
- Ecosure: achieves an average of a 2 or better for the year
The Drive-Thru Director Should:
- Work neatly, professionally and thoughtfully to ensure the Drive-Thru is operating efficiently
- Focus on creating and implementing efficient systems in the Drive-Thru
- Set Drive-Thru goals and effectively communicate the results to leaders and Hospitality Professionals
- Create a warm, welcoming environment for guests and Hospitality Professionals
- Consistently coach on how to execute a Drive-Thru focused on fast service and accurate orders while also prioritizing hospitality through the “Core 4”
- Be able to listen to customer comments and solve any issues with a genuine and gracious manner
- Follow all Corporate, HACCP, and OSHA safety standards and be able to lift 50 lbs
