Pay Rate: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Job Summary
The City of Pierz is seeking a dependable and motivated Seasonal Maintenance Worker (18+) to assist with the full golf course season. This position supports spring startup, daily maintenance operations, and fall shutdown procedures. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and capable of operating equipment in a responsible manner.

Scope of Responsibility
This position assists with maintaining the overall appearance, functionality, and safety of the Pierz Golf Course and campground facilities. The employee will support seasonal transitions, operate equipment, and contribute to delivering high-quality playing conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with spring startup and fall shutdown procedures
• Work scheduled weekends throughout the season
• Operate turf maintenance equipment and chainsaws safely
• Drive a one-ton City truck to haul materials (valid license required)
• Learn to cut cups and place pins on greens
• Assist with irrigation system monitoring and minor repairs
• Perform tree trimming, debris removal, and general landscaping tasks
• Care for shelters and bathroom facilities in park and campground
• Maintain cleanliness of shelters, campsites, and facilities as needed
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance practices preferred
• Ability to safely operate equipment and light machinery
• Ability to follow safety protocols and directions
• Strong work ethic and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Minimum Qualifications
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to commit to the full six-month season
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Reliable transportation
