Key Responsibilities
- Perform street maintenance tasks such as pothole patching, crack sealing, and sign installation
- Conduct snow and ice control including plowing, sanding, and sidewalk shoveling
- Maintain city parks, public buildings, and grounds with care and enthusiasm
- Repair sidewalks, curbs, storm sewers, and perform minor concrete or asphalt work
- Operate and maintain loaders, dump trucks, mowers, and various hand tools safely and efficiently
- Perform general mechanical, carpentry, painting, and welding tasks as needed
Skills and Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota Driver’s License and Minnesota Class B with Air Brakes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in all weather
- Strong communication skills to interact courteously with the public and coworkers
- Willingness to obtain certifications as Tree Inspector, Pesticide Applicator, and Weed Inspector within one year (city reimburses)
- Reliable, independent worker who thrives as part of a team
Work Environment and Benefits
- Full-time position with 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, including weekend and holiday availability
- Work primarily on-site with varied weather conditions and occasional emergency response duties
- Competitive starting pay at $24.00/hour with increase after completing a 6-month probationary period.
