Food Production Director

Chick-fil-A Odessa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Kitchen Thru-Put Director to lead our food production line and ensure the smooth flow of food through the centerline of the kitchen. This role is vital to ensuring every item is prepared, assembled, and delivered with excellence, maintaining the highest standards of food safety, speed, and quality.

As Kitchen Food Thru Director, you will oversee the entire back-of-house production process — from prep to the handoff window — guiding a team to deliver accurate, high-quality food that represents Chick-fil-A’s commitment to hospitality and care.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and coach the kitchen team to ensure proper food production, flow, and handoff.
  • Build a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence.

Food Flow Oversight

  • Direct the centerline of the kitchen, ensuring food moves efficiently from prep to bagging and pass-out.
  • Manage station transitions and production flow during peak and off-peak hours.

Food Safety & Quality

  • Maintain strict adherence to Chick-fil-A’s food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure all menu items meet quality, freshness, and accuracy expectations.

Performance & Efficiency

  • Monitor throughput, waste reduction, and labor effectiveness.
  • Implement process improvements to streamline food flow and increase output without compromising quality.

Collaboration with FOH

  • Partner with front-of-house leadership to guarantee timely and accurate order handoff.
  • Create seamless communication between teams to deliver the best guest experience.

Shift & Staff Management

  • Ensure the kitchen is properly staffed and production is balanced across stations.
  • Resolve workflow issues quickly to keep the line moving smoothly.

Training & Mentorship

  • Train staff on food flow systems, efficiency standards, and quality expectations.
  • Develop future leaders by fostering growth and skill-building.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 years of proven kitchen leadership experience in a high-volume setting
  • In-depth knowledge of food production flow and kitchen operations
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to drive accountability
  • Proficiency in inventory management, ordering, and waste control
  • Excellent time-management and multitasking abilities
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
