Back of House Team Leader

Back of House Team Leaders support senior leadership in executing kitchen operations while maintaining Chick-fil-A standards for food quality, speed, and safety. They lead kitchen team members by example and ensure operational excellence behind the scenes.


A Team Leader’s primary areas of focus are:

  • Ensuring kitchen systems and operations run effectively
  • Coaching and developing Back of House team members
  • Ensuring a food safe environment

Team Leader Responsibilities

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Participate operationally in day-to-day kitchen activities in a high-volume restaurant
  • Lead shifts and support kitchen systems and food production
  • Ensure food is prepared quickly, safely, and according to Chick-fil-A standards
  • Assist with training and onboarding kitchen team members
  • Set the tone for the shift and foster a positive team culture
  • Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization
  • Open and/or close the kitchen and serve as a key holder when needed
  • Count inventory and support operational checklists
  • Communicate effectively with Front of House and leadership teams
  • Hold team members accountable to quality and food safety standards

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong people and leadership skills
  • Commitment to food quality and safety standards
  • Ability to manage team member performance and accountability
  • Ability to work in a team environment with shared ownership and responsibility

Two or more years experience as a shift lead, crew lead, supervisor, team lead, restaurant manager, or assistant manager is required.
