Position Overview

We are seeking a Crew Member / Shift Lead‑in‑Training who is dependable, motivated, and interested in growing into a leadership role. This position is ideal for candidates with some prior food service or customer service experience who are looking for consistent hours, clear expectations, and a defined path toward increased responsibility and pay.

This is an anytime position and requires availability for day and/or night shifts across the week.

Pay & Growth Opportunity

• Effective starting pay: approximately $10.50 – $12.00 per hour
• Starting base pay: $9.00 – $10.50 per hour (based on experience and availability)
• Tips: Typically add $1.50 – $2.00 per hour

We offer a clearly defined, fast‑track growth path for high‑performing team members.

• Team members who start at the top of the range and demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and leadership potential can earn up to an additional $2.50 per hour within the first 90 days through aggressive assessments and skill‑based raises.
• This includes the opportunity to advance into a trained Shift Lead role, with base pay up to $13.00 per hour as business needs allow.

Raises and advancement are performance‑based, not tenure‑based, and are tied directly to demonstrated skills, consistency, and readiness for added responsibility.

Schedule & Availability Requirements

• 30–35 hours per week
• Minimum of 5 days per week
• Open availability required (day and/or night shifts)
• Consistent scheduling with expectations clearly communicated in advance

Top starting pay is reserved for candidates who demonstrate strong availability and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service by greeting, serving, and thanking every guest
• Prepare smoothies and food items in compliance with Tropical Smoothie Cafe brand standards
• Assist with daily food prep, cleaning, and closing routines
• Work efficiently during peak periods while maintaining quality and professionalism
• Support teammates and contribute to achieving daily operational goals
• Follow all food safety, security, and company procedures
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and remain until assigned duties are complete
• Cross‑train in multiple areas of the cafe as needed
• Communicate clearly with managers regarding scheduling and time‑off requests

Qualifications

• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred (but not required)
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
• Reliable transportation
• Strong work ethic, professionalism, and team mindset
• Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow into additional responsibility
