Restaurant Shift Leader
Reports To: Area Director, General Manager
Role Overview
The Restaurant Shift Leader leads excellent shifts where team members feel supported and guests feel genuinely cared for. This role focuses on strong preparation, clear communication, and consistent execution of systems that drive guest satisfaction and speed of service.
No prior leadership system experience is required. All training will be provided.
Current Staffing Need
While we may interview candidates for multiple areas and dayparts, we are currently seeking leadership coverage for several areas of the business (such as Kitchen and Front Counter) as well as varying Dayparts. Candidates should be comfortable leading during high-volume evening operations.
Growth & Development Pathway
This position follows a structured leadership development path. Candidates are expected to progress through the following stages within 120 days of employment:
- Team Member – Learn core systems, standards, and service expectations
- Certified Trainer – Model excellence and train new team members
- Shift Leader – Lead shifts, coach team members, and drive results
Advancement is based on performance, mastery of skills, and leadership behaviors.
Compensation
- Full-Time: Starting at $18.00/hour
- Part-Time: Starting at $16.00/hour
- Opportunity for raises through quarterly performance evaluations
Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Full-Time Shift Leaders:
- Receive 1.5 weeks (60 hours) of PTO
- Eligible after 60 days in the Shift Leader role, provided the team member averaged 36 hours/week over the prior 3 months
- Part-Time Shift Leaders:
- Receive 1 week (40 hours) of PTO
- Eligible after 60 days in the Shift Leader role, provided the team member averaged 20 hours/week over the prior 3 months
What You’ll Do as a Shift Leader
- Prepare for each shift in your assigned area (Front of House, Back of House, or Drive-Thru)
- Lead pre-shift huddles and communicate clear expectations
- Execute operational systems to ensure smooth, high-quality shifts
- Maintain standards by addressing issues promptly and celebrating wins
- Coach team members daily to improve performance and guest experience
- Review shift performance and plan improvements
- Meet weekly one-on-one with your Area Director
- Encourage, support, and celebrate team members on every shift
- Complete required shift documentation and reports on time
- Manage break schedules and team placement
- Handle guest concerns using a structured service recovery model
- Follow all safety and security procedures
- Front of House Leaders will:
- Complete cash handling training
- Accurately perform deposit duties when required

- Availability to lead Evening Drive-Thru shifts (5pm–11pm)
- Availability to meet Saturday scheduling requirements (Must be available on Saturdays and must work at least 2 Saturdays per month)
