A successful candidate will have at least three years of recent California litigation experience; insurance defense highly preferred.
Job Overview: This position will provide attorney support by performing a variety of legal tasks, including preparing and finalizing documents, calendaring, handling litigation filings, managing case files and assisting with client communication. The position is non-exempt. A remote schedule of one day per week may be available after first 90 days in office. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, is well-organized, detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to handling their workload. Dependability and reliability are crucial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist attorneys in preparing, finalizing, serving and filing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
· Maintain and organize case files, ensuring that all relevant documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
· Prepare and manage correspondence, including emails, letters, and other written communications to clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
· Assist in trial preparation.
· Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases as needed.
· Calendar filing deadlines and court dates, ensuring deadlines are met.
· Perform other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years recent litigation experience as a Legal Secretary.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research tools.
· Strong understanding of state and federal court processes, including e-filing, court rules, forms, calendaring, pleadings, discovery procedures and trial preparation.
· Familiarity with legal terminology, processes, and documentation.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
· Strong writing and proofreading skills.
· Strong work ethic and takes ownership and pride in work.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with competitive compensation and benefits. The pay range for this position is $68,000 – $75,000 annually based on experience. Candidates with additional years of experience will be considered for a higher salary range.
