The Receiving Clerk Assistant is responsible for the receipt, storage and distribution of inventory to internal departments. The Receiving Clerk Assistant works directly with the
receiving clerk and store management to establish optimal order
quantities, coordinates product returns and ensures receipt of store credits.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Receives inventory and supplies and confirms that delivered goods match the purchase order specifications of quantity, condition, part number, etc.; Develops, implements and follows inventory control procedures to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are sufficient and any discrepancies are addressed and resolved. Follows the process for accepting shipments and subsequently moving new product to sales floor. Returns damaged/defective products to manufacturer and follows up on receipt of credit for returned goods. Maintains
clean, orderly and safe working environment.
Attendance:
A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required along with the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and holidays. The Receiving clerk assistant is a part-time hourly position, minimum of 25 hrs. per week.
Skills and Qualifications:
The Receiving Clerk assistant must possess excellent organization and time management skills, as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties. The receiving clerk assistant should be detail oriented, computer literate and able to read, analyze and interpret business documents. The Receiving clerk assistant must be able to professionally communicate with clients, all members of store management and store associates.
Physical Demands:
The Receiving Clerk assistant is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to handle objects and tools. The employee is frequently required to climb ladders and stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch. The Receiving Clerk must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds of concrete.
