As an Oncology Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients navigating their cancer treatment journey. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive histories and physical exams of oncology patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including lab work and imaging
- Formulate and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising Oncologist
- Prescribe medications and supportive therapies
- Monitor patients for treatment response and adjust care plans as needed
- Provide education and counseling to patients and families
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
- Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR
- Participate in tumor boards and quality improvement initiatives
- Stay current on advancements in oncology treatments
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
- Proficient in EMR systems and medical documentation
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Compassionate, patient-centered care approach
