A Cashier’s primary role is to assist customers in the in-store check-out process. Main duties include ringing up sales, bagging items, requesting price checks, honoring coupons, collecting payment and giving appropriate change. An ideal candidate will have the ability to balance a till and familiarity with cash register operator procedures. Ideal candidate will also have experience with customer service and be willing to go out of their way to make customer happy.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES::


Customer Service
• Knows and adheres to quality standards for customer service as outlined by the Store Owners/Operators
• Adheres to all guidelines around product recommendation and information
• Assists in any other departments, based on store need

Personal Effectiveness
• Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on-time and appropriately uniformed
• Understands and adheres to store’s policy and procedures
• Accepts and offers feedback and suggestions openly and respectfully
• Accepts direction willingly and follows through with all delegated tasks
• Learns and adapts to new tasks or situations quickly and cooperatively
• Maintains job-related confidentiality
• Takes initiative to identify, report and resolve problems before they escalate
• Provides a positive model for co-workers

Safety:
• Maintains safe work environment according to all store procedures and state and/or federal regulations
• Maintains safety as number one priority and reports any safety hazards immediately.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


• Requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs
