Schlesinger’s Steakhouse, Newport News’ premier chophouse, is looking for a reliable, experienced Pantry Cook who takes pride in their work and knows how to keep a kitchen station running smoothly.

We need someone who shows up ready to work, stays focused when things get busy, and understands that consistency and attention to detail matter. If you take ownership of your station, keep your prep on point, and work well with a professional kitchen team, we want you on ours!

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepare fresh salads, cold appetizers, desserts, sauces, and dressings to recipe standards.
• Keep your pantry station stocked, organized, and ready for service.
• Deliver consistent portions, quality, and attractive plate presentation.
• Work efficiently and stay focused during busy dinner service.
• Label, date, rotate, and store ingredients properly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Communicate with the kitchen team to keep orders moving and service running smoothly.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous pantry, prep, or line cook experience preferred.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Someone who stays busy, takes initiative, and doesn't need constant direction.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to food quality.
• Able to work efficiently while keeping standards high.
• A professional team player who takes responsibility for their station.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
