Porter
This is a part time position, with the functions to be carried outside of normal open hours (late nights or early mornings). This position is entirely based on cleaning and maintenance, and will not require any training on or working positions within the restaurant. At this time, we are looking for a week day porter, available early mornings Monday - Friday, or later nights Sunday - Thursday.
Job Summary:
Provide cleaning and maintenance work to the interior and exterior of the restaurant and equipment while fulfilling our mission that, “We genuinely care so every guest who chooses Culver’s leaves happy.”
Essential Functions:
• Performs cleanliness, preventative maintenance of facilities, equipment, and grounds to readiness standards.
• Maintains a basic working knowledge of the operation of all the equipment in the restaurant.
• Follows restaurant safety standards at all times and ensures the safety of other team members and guests.
• Follows established standard operating procedures and restaurant best practices.
• Has great attention to detail and willingness to ensure cleaning and maintenance processes are completed thoroughly every time.
• Is capable of working independently and with very limited supervision on cleaning and maintenance tasks
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Inspects building and facility to ensure a safe and secure environment prior to entering the restaurant.
• Cleans and assembles equipment to prepare restaurant for opening, including grill, fryer, and exhaust hood filters.
• Receive food order (delivery truck), rotate stock in cooler, freezer, and dry storage area while monitoring shelf life, code dates, and product temperatures.
• Maintains building interior, exterior and grounds, including landscaping, and snow removal.
• Completes preventative maintenance tasks.
• Carry out a daily, in depth, clean of necessary areas in the restaurant, including walls, ceilings, baseboards, and floors, throughout the entire building.
Qualification Standards:
• Must meet the federal and state age requirements for the position responsibilities.
• Stand or walk for four or more hours at a time.
• Able to reach, bend, push, pull and/or stretch body to grab or move items.
• Move items weighing up to 50+ pounds for various needs.
• Exposure to cold temperatures from coolers and freezers, as well as heat from cooking equipment.
