Job Summary

In alignment with Arosa’s mission, vision, and values, the Lead Caregiver supports both clients and fellow caregivers by promoting a positive and collaborative environment and helping strengthen Arosa’s visibility within the Bartlett Reserve community. The Lead Caregiver will provide additional support to the Care Management team as needed within their scheduled workdays.

The Difference You Will Make

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including supervising, feeding, dressing, bathing, showering, toileting, transferring, and ambulation, in accordance with state regulations and the Arosa Plan of Care.
  • Support Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), such as preparing meals and shopping, when performed for the client only.
  • Ensure that all other activities total less than 20% of daily work time and immediately inform the Care Manager if additional assistance is required beyond this scope.
  • Maintain accurate and timely timekeeping and client documentation.
  • Promote and maintain a safe home environment, adhering to all Arosa safety and training guidelines.
  • Promptly communicate any client concerns or unusual findings to the Care Manager.
  • Complete required annual continuing education and comply with all Arosa and state standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Leadership and Community Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a professional, approachable representative of Arosa at Bartlett Reserve, wearing the Arosa teal shirt at all times while on duty.
  • Support fellow caregivers by:
  • Assisting with training new caregivers, especially on safe shower assistance and proper care techniques.
  • Providing gloves, masks, and other necessary supplies.
  • Offering guidance, encouragement, and problem-solving support during shifts.
  • Participate in client and caregiver introductions when available.
  • Help promote Arosa’s services within Bartlett Reserve by raising awareness among residents and staff.
  • Cover open shifts when possible, based on schedule and client needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the Care Management team regarding client changes, caregiver needs, and community opportunities.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and uphold Arosa’s standards of care at all times.

What Makes You a Great Candidate:

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • High school graduate of G.E.D certificate preferred.
  • Prior experience providing caring for an older adult preferred.
  • Ability to satisfactorily demonstrate basic competency in all areas required by Arosa policy and applicable state laws.
  • Demonstrated language skills sufficient to read and understand instructions, prepare and maintain written reports and records, and communicate with client(s).

General Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (English proficiency encouraged).
  • Compassionate personality; patient, kind, and have a heart for working with senior adults.
  • HCA registered (We will help you with this process!).
  • Drug Screen, Criminal Background Check.
  • Licensed drivers needed to provide client transportation.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Demonstrates sufficient strength, endurance and flexibility to perform job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • For any assignments that require driving, must have a current and valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • May require extended periods of standing or sitting; driving may be required if authorized.
  • Ability to use home appliances and client assistive devices safely, according to directions and in compliance with universal health and safety precautions.
