Key Responsibilities:
· Manage receiving of Ace truck and distribution of product to the sales floor.
· Unload, inspect, and document of incoming shipments, ensuring the goods match purchase orders, are in good condition, and are properly recorded.
· Inventory control: Maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring products are received, stocked, and logged correctly in the inventory management system.
Conduct monthly mango counts and assist in yearly cycle inventory counts.
· Uses a forklift and pallet jack to load, unload and move merchandise. Respects and follows operating and safety rules for equipment use. Participates in required training.
· Provides service to customers in the store. Actively listens and asks questions to evaluate customer’s needs and find the products or solutions to meet those needs.
· Uses a radio frequency unit (RUFUS) to scan or print price tags.
· Works with other associates to ensure coverage in all areas of the store.
· Stocks shelves with incoming merchandise in a timely manner.
· Maintains full knowledge of the layout of the store and can easily locate product.
· Enters special orders in the computer system.
· Operates a computerized cash register by using an electronic scanner to record price or enter data to process customer purchases.
· Collects cash, check or charge payment from customer; makes change for cash transactions.
· Redeems coupons, Ace Rewards, and gift cards, signs up customer for Ace rewards when applicable
· Bags merchandise.
· Assists in activities to prepare for the opening and closing of the store.
· Keeps all areas of the store clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
· Fills propane tanks for customers.
· Answers phone calls for the store and uses zello app to communicate with co-workers.
Additional Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
· Uses a key cutting machine to make duplicate keys; rekeys locks as requested.
· Cuts tubing, chains and plastic pipe for customers.
· Performs general housekeeping duties, such as sweeping floors, moving cardboard to the warehouse, dusting shelves and merchandise, and taking out trash when needed.
· Assists customers in loading purchases into their vehicles.
· Mixes paint using a computerized system and assists customers with color selection.
· Searches department for empty hooks, researches the cause, and makes adjustments to inventory or orders as necessary.
Requirements:
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Part Time Schedule (between 10-15 hours weekly)
- Ability to work Monday and Thursday mornings (typically until 1:00pm).
- Flexibility to work weekends and various shifts.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; experience in retail is a plus.
- Knowledge and proficiency with computers, including email, Internet research, MS Word and Excel, and Point of Sale
- Ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack
- Basic understanding of inventory management or willingness to learn
