Bomberger’s Store, a family-owned home improvement retailer in Lititz, is seeking a talented Experienced Cabinet Installer to join our team. As part of our team, you will have the chance to work with a highly skilled group of individuals and learn new techniques in cabinet installation. Summary: 

The position installs cabinets and countertops, and other handyman type jobs as scheduled, to satisfy our obligations and commitments to our customers by performing the following duties: 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Loads trucks, manually or by forklift, with tools and materials needed for daily jobs. 
  • Packages items on truck in an effort to prevent damage. 
  • Drives a box truck to the location of each job. 
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools to install cabinetry, countertops, ceiling tiles, storm doors and screens per plan design. 
  • Uses experience and job knowledge to make decisions and judgements while working through installation process. 
  • Communicates with customers at the work site to answer questions or explain the work process. 
  • Demonstrates respect for customers and their property by not smoking in any residence, driving into yard only if necessary and approved by customer. 
  • Reports any accidental damage to customer property. 
  • Keeps warehouse and workshop organized and free of obstacles. 
  • Checks plan design to identify any potential installation problems.  Checks material list to ensure all material for job is ordered. 
  • Makes changes to plan designs, if necessary, after discussions with manager and designer. 
  • Completes job sheets at the end of each job. 
  • Review job sheet and material list for the next day. 
  • Assists in the training of co-workers to enable them to be independent as soon as possible. 
  • Fabricates in-shop materials needed for customers or upcoming jobs. 
  • Interprets and understands detail involved in technical drawings. 
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains company vehicles in good running condition and appearance. 
  • Assists in showroom remodeling work.  Constructs displays for the Cabinet showroom and other divisions of the business. 
  • Fabricates cabinets and countertops in the shop. 
  • Assists in the maintenance of the showroom. 
  • Assists sales people as needed, including waiting on customers and taking measurements at job sites. 
  • Assist in answering phones for the division. 
  • Coordinates with scheduler and finalizes the installation schedule. 
  • Uses other mechanical skills, as needed, to complete jobs.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


Skills and Abilities 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, construction drawings, cut sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 
  • Ability to complete company forklift certification training. 
  • Ability to read a tape measure and work with fractions. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints. 
  • Ability to operate power hand tools. 
  • Ability to drive a box truck. 
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

Work schedule
