This position plays a major role in our guest's experience. Bartenders must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A bartender should be organized and able to think quickly, act quickly, and multitask effectively while maintaining composure and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning duties as required by management
- Completion of all sidework, before, during, and after the shift as required by management
- Presenting menus and helping customers select food/beverages
- Prepare, garnish and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for patrons of the bar and the dining room following standard recipes
- Demonstrate responsible alcohol service; including carding guests and being aware of how much alcohol is be served to and consumed by guests
- Taking/serving orders and answering questions or making product recommendations
- Staying active and attentive to all guest’s needs at all times
Requirements
- The ability to multi-task while maintaining a calm composure and a friendly demeanor
- A comprehensive knowledge of common cocktails and how to make them
- A comprehensive knowledge of beer styles and craft beer producers
- Utilizing good communication with fellow employees, management, and guests
- Demonstrating a solid knowledge of all The Aviator food and beverage items offered in the restaurant
- Fluently and efficiently navigating the restaurant’s point of sale system
- Coming to work on time and with a positive attitude every shift
- Demonstrating correct financial reporting and cash handling
- Following all policies and procedures as listed in The Aviator Employee Manual
- Attention to cleanliness and safety
- High school diploma, food safety training, and alcohol training safety will be considered a plus
