Event Cook Responsibilities
“Heart of the House”
- Streamline the cooking process for the team.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, slicing, and dicing fruits and vegetables, as well as cutting and marinating meats and seafood.
- Measure and mix ingredients and seasonings accurately.
- Follow standard recipes meticulously.
- Taste all prepared dishes to ensure quality.
- Complete all preparation for upcoming events.
- Use appropriately sized containers for food storage (e.g., avoid using a 22qt Cambro for 8-12qts).
- Clean knives immediately after use and store them properly; do not leave them lying around or in prep sinks.
- Label and stock ingredients correctly on shelves and speed racks for easy access and organization.
- Store all food items properly to maintain freshness and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Clean and sanitize workstations before and after shifts.
- Dispose of trash and waste appropriately.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking.
- Report any kitchen equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Help with putting orders away.
- Maintain the trash area and outside smoking area.
