Event Cook Responsibilities

“Heart of the House”

  • Streamline the cooking process for the team.
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, slicing, and dicing fruits and vegetables, as well as cutting and marinating meats and seafood.
  • Measure and mix ingredients and seasonings accurately.
  • Follow standard recipes meticulously.
  • Taste all prepared dishes to ensure quality.
  • Complete all preparation for upcoming events.
  • Use appropriately sized containers for food storage (e.g., avoid using a 22qt Cambro for 8-12qts).
  • Clean knives immediately after use and store them properly; do not leave them lying around or in prep sinks.
  • Label and stock ingredients correctly on shelves and speed racks for easy access and organization.
  • Store all food items properly to maintain freshness and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations before and after shifts.
  • Dispose of trash and waste appropriately.
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking.
  • Report any kitchen equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Help with putting orders away.
  • Maintain the trash area and outside smoking area.
