We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Mathnasium team as a Math Instructor! If you are a math whiz, enjoy events, love working with students, and make a great colleague, this role is for you.
The ideal candidate will provide exceptional math instruction while helping students build a deep understanding of concepts and develop strong problem-solving skills. You’ll receive 3–6+ months of paid training and mentorship to refine your teaching techniques and instructional approach. Ideal candidates are coachable, committed, and enthusiastic about helping students succeed, fostering critical thinking rather than rote memorization, and working collaboratively as part of a supportive teaching team.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Management: manage students during their time in the center.
- Deliver Instruction: Instruct students in-center, online, and in hybrid formats using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Digital Proficiency: Use a stylus and tablet for instruction and navigate digital learning tools effectively.
- Collaboration: Work as part of a team to provide individualized instruction and contribute to a positive learning environment.
- Event Participation: Attend math-related events, including game nights and community outreach at schools.
Qualifications
- Math Enthusiast: Strong knowledge of math up to Algebra.
- Availability: Must be available 3 or more times, with additional opportunities in the summer.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage tasks effectively and help keep the center running smoothly.
- Eagerness to Learn: Open to training and professional growth in both instruction and center operations.
- Compliance: Must pass a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
Interview Process
- Initial 15 - 30 minutes phone interview based on the job description
- Math Test from basics up to Algebra - 1.5 hours
- Trial session with up to three students on math instruction
- Official in-person interview for one hour with written questions
Several visits to the center are required.

Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing, LLC ("Mathnasium"). Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium. Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center. If you are hired to work at a center, the franchisee will be your employer, not Mathnasium.
