Central Virginia has 20 restaurants in the Richmond/Charlottesville area and has been locally owned and operated since 1992. The Marketing Department, while small in size, creates an impressive impact throughout the area through sponsorship, partnership, and fundraising programs. Through relationship marketing practices, PJ Cheese supports its community with quality pizza products and programs that enhance the region's philanthropic needs.


PJ Cheese is seeking to fill an Entry-level position that provides the opportunity to gain marketing knowledge and experience while supporting the Marketing Manager in their daily duties.

This position will help you gain REAL WORLD Knowledge of your textbook learnings while you support the Marketing Team to maintain and build community partnerships by helping to drive positive revenue streams to our local restaurants.

Assistant Marketing Manager


This is a FULL-TIME position with both office and lead generation time. The candidate will become a valued and productive asset in a marketing department within a Quality Brand company. Hands-on Learning daily.


Here’s what you can expect to do:

- Assist with organizing and executing local marketing events

- Assist operations departments with marketing and sales-building projects

- Attend meetings within marketing and operational departments

- Update local social media and website status to reflect community relationships

- Assist in Developing and Implementing sales generating programs with local business partners.

- Regularly visit and communicate with local partners regarding special offers and opportunities

- Maintain records in an organized and complete manner utilizing electronic methods

- Learn how to Analyze program results based on sales, transactions, average check, community value, awareness, or other benefits

- Research other sources for successful LSM

- Update LSM program materials and instructions as products, programs, offers, strategies, etc change.

- Support Marketing Manager with daily duties

- Gather materials and detail implementation processes of programs that develop sales opportunities that are relevant to the market.

- Learn to create and maintain profitable community partnerships that result in positive cash flow to local restaurants

- Learn to plan cost effective printing, packaging, and package pricing of materials/products


What you will need to qualify:

- Ability to work 40 hours per week, generally Monday- Friday 9am to 5pm. Some evening and weekend hours

- Reliable Transportation with Valid License and relatively good Driving & Background record

- General interest in Sales & Marketing, some college preferred but not required. Sales experience helpful

- Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) & other creative software very helpful

- Demonstrated dependability, multi-tasking, and self-motivation skills

- Good Communicator with a Professional Demeanor and Positive Personality

- Strong typing and written skills


Pay range: $33,280 - $42,000 with car & phone allowances and bonus opportunities. Benefits and Salary available with positive & contributing performance after allotted time worked.
