Position Summary:
As a Furniture Refinisher, you will be responsible for preparing furniture surfaces for staining or painting, applying finishes, and sealing pieces with topcoats. This role requires a keen eye for color, strong attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of color theory. The ideal candidate will be organized, take pride in their workspace, and be committed to delivering exceptional craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare furniture surfaces for finishing (sanding, stripping, cleaning, etc.)
- Mix and apply stains, paints, sealers, and topcoats according to specifications
- Match and blend colors using knowledge of color theory to achieve desired finishes
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, uniformity, and durability
- Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times
- Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines
- Properly store and label finishing materials and tools
Requirements:
- Proven experience in furniture refinishing or a related field
- Strong knowledge of finishing techniques, materials, and color matching
- Familiarity with sanding, spraying, and hand-application methods
- Understanding of color theory and ability to accurately mix and match colors
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude
