Growing pediatric clinic seeks fabulous Evaluating Pediatric Occupational Therapist. STEP Therapy Pediatrics provides Pediatric Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy services for children with a variety of developmental challenges. We are looking for some one to evaluate for our OT Team at our DTC location. We are a growing company and need help with 1-2 evaluations per week.
Compensation will be per evaluation. Flexible times available to hold evaluations. Must be a proficient pediatric evaluator, looking for someone familiar with but not limited to : Sensory Framework, Gross and Fine motor clinical obs and assessment.
Requirements:
• Develop and implement treatment program to meet the individual needs of the child. Treatment is provided in an out-patient facility for Birth to 21 years old.
• Educate and demonstrate (verbally and/or in writing) therapy techniques to parents, caregivers or guardians that can be incorporated into a home program; assist families in home program facilitation.
• Assess and make recommendations regarding the use of therapeutic, sensory diets, adaptive, and/or positioning equipment as needed. Provide written justification and coordinate purchase of equipment for a child with team members, service coordinator, intake/billing specialists, families, and other allied professionals.
• Responsible for timely documentation of evaluations- Due 3 business days after evaluation is completed
• Collaboratively incorporate best practices and demonstrate a willingness to question established practices.
• Optional : Attend in-service training, and continuing education courses as appropriate; read team emails when staff meetings are not attended.
• Maintain professional clinical competency by attending certified CEU in-service or workshops in the area of pediatrics.
• May participate in public speaking or community education programs that focus on issues relating to therapy and children.
• Adhere to the agency safety policies and procedures.
• Adhere to site’s HIPAA Parent Education Policies.
• Assist in developing strategic and long-range plan for STEP Therapy, LLC.
TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
Completing Evaluations as needed, collaboration with team members in the event evals are currently receiving services at STEP. IE Speech of Physical Therapy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Current NBCOT
• Current State Licensure- DORA
• 1-3 years of experience treating children in any setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with EMR
• Knowledge of Insurance billing and coding
