Pediatric Physical Therapist- PRN

Full-time
Rate of pay$30 - 100 per hour

Great pediatric out patient clinic seeks fabulous part time / PRN pediatric physical therapist in order to complete PT evaluations, supervise a PTA, possibility to hold sessions as well if desired. Supervise one to two PTAs, would be responsible for timely co-signature of PTA notes, and completing 1-2 evaluations per week.


STEP Therapy Pediatrics provides pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy services for children with a variety of developmental challenges. It’s a fast-paced, fun and positive environment, lovely facility, great staff. Always busy, never boring, we serve the best families in the state.


We are a dynamic team of OT, PT and SLPs who work wonderfully together.


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement treatment program to meet the individual needs of the child. Treatment is provided in an out-patient facility for Birth to 21 years old.

• Educate and demonstrate (verbally and/or in writing) therapy techniques to parents, caregivers or guardians that can be incorporated into a home program; assist families in home program facilitation.

• Assess and make recommendations regarding the use of therapeutic, sensory diets, adaptive, and/or positioning equipment as needed. Provide written justification and coordinate purchase of equipment for a child with team members, service coordinator, intake/billing specialists, families, and other allied professionals.

• Fabricate adaptive equipment, sensory tools as indicated.

• Responsible for timely documentation of progress reports, daily notes, attendance reports, and insurance justifications as required.

• Maintain communication with child’s primary physician through progress reports or other communication measures.

• Collaboratively incorporate best practices and demonstrate a willingness to question established practices.

• Attend in-service training, and continuing education courses as appropriate; read team emails when staff meetings are not attended.

• Maintain professional clinical competency by attending certified CEU in-service or workshops in the area of pediatrics.

• May participate in public speaking or community education programs that focus on issues relating to therapy and children.

• Provide clinical supervision to PT and PTA students.

• Adhere to the agency safety policies and procedures.

• Adhere to site’s HIPAA Parent Education Policies.

• Assist in developing strategic and long-range plan for STEP Therapy Pediatrics.

• Perform any other duties that are, from time to time, deemed necessary by the Clinic Director

• Regularly meets with the team as a whole to provide information, share mutual concerns and advance the policies and procedures and objectives of the organization.

• Assists the team in setting and attaining goals set forth by members or the organization as a whole.

• Works with the team to develop a system of mutual support and positive peer interaction.

• Assists team members in advocating for the needs of the individuals we serve both within the organization and externally.

Preferred Requirements:


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with EMR

• Knowledge of Insurance billing and coding


Minimum Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Physical Therapy Degree- Clinical Doctorate or Masters

• Current national certification

• Current State License- DORA

• 1-3 years of experience treating children in any setting
