Assistant Restaurant General Managers have the overall responsibility for directing the fast-paced and ever-changing daily operations of a restaurant, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation, including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance and repair, inventory management, team management, recruiting and retention of team members, financial accountability, ensuring that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer and other duties as required or assigned.

  • Driving excellence in customer service
  • Ensuring a fun and positive work environment
  • Hiring, training and staffing all restaurant-level staff
  • Maintaining company standards in product and facility specifications
  • Supervising safe-food handling procedures and operational processes
  • Exercising basic, shift-to-shift financial control to meet the restaurant profit margin targets
  • In addition, a Restaurant General Manager assumes full responsibility for specific financial P&L controls, crew training assignments and the screening of prospective employees. The Restaurant General Manager performs hands-on operational work on an on-going basis to train employees, respond to customer service needs or otherwise role model appropriate skills and behaviors in the restaurant.


The ideal candidate for the Assistant Manager position will posses:


  • Dedication and passion for providing exceptional customer service
  • Good communication skills, and strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Exceptional team building capability, with the ability to properly train and motivate
  • Basic business math and accounting skills, and strong analytical/decision-making skills
  • Basic personal computer literacy
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred. College or university Degree Preferred
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience in either a food service or retail environment, including Profit & Loss responsibility


Requirements:

  • High School diploma or higher.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Good observation skills.
  • An ability to deliver constructive criticism.
  • Computer literate and basic Math skills.
  • An ability to identify weaknesses and provide coaching where necessary.


Responsibilities:

  • Cooperating with the general manager, and assisting with anything from project planning to staff management.
  • Nurturing positive working relationships with staff.
  • Delegating daily tasks.
  • Addressing any issues in a timely fashion.
  • Supervising staff and controlling merchandise.
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Setting a good example for staff.
