Position Type: Full-time, 40-45 hours / week with Friday and Saturday availability

Pay: $16-21 an hour

Program Summary and Goals:

The primary goal of the Leadership Development Program for Chick-fil-A Collier Township is to develop a well-rounded candidate for promotion to a full Director-level role. The 18-22 month-long program will do this by providing experience and training to allow the future leader to:  

  • Efficiently and effectively perform all roles in the store (FOH and BOH)
  • Provides structured "soft skills" training to supplement the operational knowledge which will help the person develop a well-rounded experience and quicken their development as a leader
  • Gain hands-on, real-world experience in all facets of the business including; Operations, Marketing, Food Safety, Recruiting, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Finance/Accounting, Administration, Hospitality and Community Relations
  • Quickly progress in responsibilities from Team Member, to Shift Leader to Team Leader with the plan to be fully “certified” for promotion ultimately to a Director level role in the program timeframe (NOTE: this program should also help the person pursue opportunities in the Chick-fil-A (Corporate) Leadership Development Program which prepares candidates for a future with Chick-fil-A Corporate or as a potential Owner/Operator)
  • Become fully versed in all important Chick-fil-A Quality and Operational Standards
  • Understand and implement all Food Safety processes and procedures
  • Supervisor, coach, mentor, team members and become a role model for potential future Chick-fil-A Collier Township future LDP participants

Role Summary

The Chick-fil-A Collier Township's Leadership Development Program (CFACollier LDP) is designed to give the participant hands-on experience and training in the Operational and Leadership aspects of the best Quick Service restaurant in the industry while preparing you to become a Director in an accelerated period of time. At the conclusion of the Leadership Develop Program you should be prepared to take on the role of a Director in one of the areas of the store and/or be more prepared to apply to Chick-fil-A Corporate’s Leadership Development Program (LDP). Throughout the program you will be coached/mentored by more senior leadership and/or the Owner/Operator in Leadership topics. We utilize a top training product to provide the soft skills training essential for your development as a leader. The phases are estimated based on our experience of what is reasonable for any person to fully grasp each position in the rotation. The phases could be shorter or longer depending on the performance of the individual.

You will follow a structured learning path with approx. 3 month rotations over 20-22 months which will give you hands-on experience with every aspect of the business. This includes:  Front-of-house, Back-of-House, Food Safety, Sales & Brand Growth (Marketing), HR & Administration (recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, training/development, team building, celebrations, performance management, salary planning, benefit administration, scheduling et. al.), Financial Stewardship (food cost, labor cost, facilities & maintenance, etc.) and best-in-class Leadership Development soft-skills training throughout the program. The successful candidate should expect to receive two promotions during this program and be ready for the next level upon completion.  


Key Responsibilities & Expectations:

The purpose of this role is to ensure that Chick-fil-A Collier Township always has a strong pipeline of the best leaders and team members. It is our goal to make “Leaders Made Here” one of our foundational habits and a key part of our culture. As you move through this program there are certain key responsibilities and expectations that apply to all team members including those in this role. They include (but not limited to):

  • Perform all assigned duties of a team member, shift leader and/or team leader during that phase of the training program
  • Complete all assigned training and course work in the assigned period of time
  • Perform all assigned duties of a team member, shift leader and/or team leader during that phase of the training program
  • Complete all assigned training and course work in the assigned period of time
  • Read, understand, and comply with all parts of the Team Member Handbook
  • Meet all responsibilities and expectations of a Team Member, Shift Leader and/or Team Leader when in those phases
  • Model the Chick-fil-A Phillipsburg Advancement & Responsibilities Characteristics up to and including the Team Leader level

Required Skills:

  • REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a business related major (For example, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or other related degree)
  • Candidate must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, each week
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including the ability to work all day-parts during a typical week
  • Availability on Fridays and Saturdays and major holiday-period “black-out” dates
  • Two years of work experience demonstrating skills in retail, customer service, management, organization, and ability to learn
  • Prior Chick-fil-A experience preferred
  • Execute and uphold all Chick-fil-A Operational Standards
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position which include, but is not limited to, standing for up to 9 hours, and lifting up to 50lbs
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Strong computer/technology literacy including email, Microsoft Office products, communication tools (i.e. Slack), knowledge/document sharing tools (i.e. Microsoft OneDrive, iCloud, Google Drive, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to influence others, especially those who do not directly report to this role
  • Ability to manage time and projects
  • Dependable and will give your best at all times
  • ServSafe Certified or able to be certified within first 60 days of employment
