What we're looking for
To thrive in this role, you'll need prior experience as a Cook, Chef, or Kitchen Hand. This one requires someone who already knows their way around a professional kitchen. A strong working knowledge of food safety procedures is a must, and you should be comfortable following strict recipe guides, processes, and procedures to a consistently high standard. Beyond the experience, bring the right attitude, work ethic, and energy, and you'll fit right in at GYG.
What you'll be doing
You're the engine of the restaurant. Every burrito, every taco, every plate that goes out, that's on you, and we wouldn't have it any other way. The pace is fast, the music is pumping, and the standard is always high.
Day to day, you'll be preparing and cooking fresh menu items to GYG's exacting recipe standards, operating kitchen equipment, including the grill, stove, fryer, oven, rice cookers, and dicer, and managing line food levels to ensure every menu item is available to every guest, every time. You'll complete opening, shift change, and closing checklists, monitor food quality and safety non-negotiables, and keep a sharp eye on deliveries, checking quantities, weights, and case counts, and flagging any discrepancies to your Head Cook or manager.
