- Clean the work area and bakery equipment.
- Keep the display full of product.
- Prepare the baking oven under supervision.
- Use equipment (mixers, fryers, etc.) under supervision.
- Make bolillo, conchas, cookies and donuts under supervision.
- Put the finishing touches on the bread (sugar, icing, decorations, etc.)
- Follow health standards.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Keep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards.
- Report faulty equipment and hazards to management.
- Perform any other task assigned by the store manager.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to write notes, instructions, orders, invoices, and descriptions of cake orders.
- 1 year experience in the preparation of Mexican bakery.
- Basic knowledge in the variety and styles of Mexican bread.
- Ability to read and write at a basic level in English and Spanish.
- Conversational Spanish.
- Graduation from high school or GED. (preferred)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to flex, kneel, bend and stoop.
