Maintenance Lead

Are you someone who enjoys fixing things, solving problems, and taking ownership of keeping buildings, equipment, and vehicles in excellent condition?

Join Chick-fil-A® as a Maintenance Lead and take ownership of the systems that help keep our operation running smoothly. We are looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working across a variety of maintenance needs.

This position will primarily support our Chick-fil-A restaurant operations, including restaurant equipment, facilities, and delivery vehicles. Additional paid maintenance opportunities may also be available supporting residential and rental properties associated with ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance for restaurant facilities and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on restaurant equipment
  • Handle general facility maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, hardware, and other repairs within the individual's skill level
  • Maintain and service Chick-fil-A delivery vehicles, including routine maintenance, inspections, basic repairs, and coordinating outside repairs when necessary
  • Ensure delivery vehicles remain safe, reliable, clean, and ready for daily operations
  • Identify potential maintenance problems before they become larger or more expensive issues
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and records for equipment, facilities, and vehicles
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and skilled trades when work requires specialized expertise
  • Maintain appropriate tools, replacement parts, and maintenance supplies
  • Respond to urgent maintenance needs when necessary
  • Communicate clearly with restaurant leadership regarding maintenance needs, priorities, costs, and completed work

Additional Property Maintenance Opportunities

Depending on experience, availability, and business needs, this role may also have opportunities to perform maintenance and repair work at residential or rental properties.

Potential projects could include:

  • General handyman and property maintenance
  • Basic plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Appliance troubleshooting and replacement
  • Drywall repair, painting, and cosmetic improvements
  • Door, lock, cabinet, and hardware repairs
  • Landscaping and exterior maintenance
  • Preventative property inspections
  • Preparing properties for new occupants
  • Troubleshooting unexpected property maintenance issues
  • Coordinating specialized contractors when a project falls outside the Maintenance Lead's expertise

The ideal candidate does not necessarily need to know how to perform every repair personally. We value someone who can diagnose problems, determine the appropriate solution, complete work within their abilities, and recognize when a licensed or specialized professional should be involved.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, automotive repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, property maintenance, or another skilled trade is preferred
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on delivery vehicles
  • General handyman skills and comfort working on a variety of projects
  • Ability to identify when repairs can be completed internally versus when professional service is required
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Dependability and willingness to respond quickly when urgent maintenance needs arise
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from identification through completion
  • Strong communication with restaurant leadership, property owners, vendors, and contractors
  • A proactive mindset focused on preventative maintenance rather than simply responding to breakdowns

What You Will Gain

  • Hands-on experience maintaining commercial restaurant equipment, facilities, vehicles, and potentially residential properties
  • Exposure to a wide variety of repair and maintenance projects
  • Opportunities to expand your knowledge across multiple skilled trades
  • Leadership and operational experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Paid training to further develop your technical abilities
  • Opportunity for increased responsibility as the maintenance program grows

Benefits and Perks

  • Flexible scheduling
  • Paid time off
  • Comprehensive health insurance
  • 401(k) plan with company matching
  • Paid training and development opportunities
  • Opportunity for additional maintenance projects and responsibilities
