Job Description:
A Line Cook working Cold Side/Salad Bar is preparing menu items and setting up necessary supplies. They make sure everything has been set up and prepped correctly before service starts. They use specialized kitchen tools to prepare essential ingredients and create salads, appetizers and desserts for the restaurant.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables and fruits, cutting garnishes, making components for dishes, preparing sauces and dressings)
- Prepare menu items according to Standardized Recipe Guide and in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with federal, state and local health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements and skills
- Cooking experience a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
- An understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices

Applicants will also be expected to be able to work on their feet for several hours at a time and lift potentially heavy objects when necessary. Prior experience is preferred, but not necessary.
