Job Description: Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable position is to process payments and control expenses by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. This position is also responsible for maintaining the company’s charge accounts. This includes increasing/decreasing credit limits, turning off past due accounts, and
collecting debts.
Major Responsibilities
The major responsibilities for this position include:
Pay all the bills for the company
Post entries in checkbook

Reconcile statements
·
Reconcile and post credit card receipts
·
Submit Farmplan and post to accounts
·
Post entries in the G/L
·
Post accounts receivable
·
Complete credit applications for company credit with creditors
·
Create/update month-end reports and spreadsheets
·
Maintain CDL/DOT reports– including tracking mileage
·
Filing
·
Open new charge accounts after researching creditworthiness
·
Turn off overdue charge accounts
·
Collect debts from overdue accounts
·
Send out tax-exempt certificates to non-tax customers (annually)
·
Collect W-9 Forms from new vendors
·
Run and mail monthly charge account statements
- Review accounts receivable statements prior to printing
- Send statements to write-off accounts (if applicable)
Order office suppliesfor corporate office
·
Other tasks assigned by general manager, store manager, or corporate office manager
Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements for this position include:
·
Education/Training: high school degree, some college preferred. Possess extensive knowledge of accounting
or have attended relevant accounting courses along with a willingness to learn
·
Experience in a retail environment in accounting, bookkeeping, or back-office operations
·
Skills/Knowledge: Excellent quantitative and computer skills. Analytical and mathematical
knowledge with the ability to make sound decisions
·
Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word, Excel, or other spreadsheet software with an ongoing
willingness to learn
·
Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask
Physical Requirements
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
· Able to operate a personal computer
Able to concentrate for long periods of time while maintaining accuracy
