Cream City Concepts Careers and Jobs

Catering & Events Server

About Us

Cream City Concepts is Milwaukee’s hospitality group built for the energy of a packed house. We run Oak Barrel Public House, Who’s on Third, Who’s on Layton, Cream City Catering, and 3rd Street Retreat — craft food, cold drinks, game days, date nights, big events, and a place to stay, all over the city. The pace is fast, the standards are high, and the people are what make it work.

About the Role

Catering & Events Servers bring the CCC experience on the road. From weddings and corporate parties to big off-site events, you set up the space, deliver warm and professional service, and break it all down so every event runs seamless start to finish. It’s fast-paced, hands-on, flexible work — a great way to work a variety of unique events and a strong entry point into hospitality. This is on-call, event-based work: you take the events that fit your availability.

One Team, One Event

At an event, there are no separate jobs — everyone sets up, serves, and tears down together. You’ll load and unload, build the space, run food and drinks, bus and reset, and break it all down as one team, following the event lead and taking care of the guest from the first handshake to the last tray out the door.

Bring the Experience to Them

Off-site, you ARE Cream City Concepts — often the only face of the brand a guest sees that day. Whatever the venue, the standard travels with you: warm hospitality, clean and professional presentation, and a seamless guest experience, no matter where the event is.

What We’re Hiring For

Skills can be taught. These five can’t — they’re the bar in every CCC venue, every shift.

  • Optimistic Warmth — You bring genuine, upbeat energy to every event and make guests feel welcomed and taken care of.
  • Curious Intelligence — You pick up the event plan fast — the layout, the timeline, the flow — and you stay a step ahead of what the event needs next.
  • Work Ethic — You hustle through setup, service, and the less glamorous breakdown and pack-out — never an empty hand, right to the end.
  • Empathy — You read the room and the guests, anticipate what they need, and handle a hiccup gracefully so the event still feels seamless.
  • Self-Awareness & Integrity — You serve alcohol responsibly, follow food-safety standards, handle the client’s space and property with care, and do it right whether or not anyone’s watching.

Key Responsibilities

Setup & Load-In

  • Load and unload catering equipment, food, and supplies.
  • Set up event spaces — tables, linens, buffets, beverage and service stations — to the event plan.

Service

  • Serve food and beverages professionally and warmly throughout the event.
  • Keep the space clean, stocked, and organized, and follow food-safety and sanitation standards.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly, per company policy and Wisconsin law, where applicable.

Breakdown & Pack-Out

  • Support full event breakdown, cleaning, and pack-out after service.
  • Leave the venue clean and reset, and return equipment and supplies organized.

Teamwork

  • Collaborate with teammates and the event lead to execute the event smoothly, start to finish.

Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality, catering, or event experience preferred, but not required — we’ll train the right person.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and good communication.
  • Available for flexible, on-call hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Reliable transportation to off-site event locations (preferred).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 30–50 lbs.

Success in This Role Means

  • Events are set up right, run smoothly, and break down clean — on time, every time.
  • Guests feel welcomed and well taken care of, wherever the event is.
  • The space and the client’s property are treated with care and left spotless.
  • The event lead can count on you to take direction, hustle, and jump in anywhere.

What We Offer

  • Flexible, on-call scheduling based on your availability.
  • The chance to work a variety of unique events and venues.
  • Competitive hourly pay, plus tips where applicable.
  • A great entry point into hospitality and events.

This is a temporary, per-event role with no guaranteed hours; shift length varies by event, and uniform or dress-code guidelines are provided per event.
