Breader 2-PM-close

Position: Breader

A Breader position at Chick-fil-A is a vital, fast-paced Back of House (BOH) role focused on preparing the signature hand-breaded chicken to exact quality standards. It is a physically demanding, high-volume role that is often considered one of the most essential positions in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Breading Chicken: Dipping, coating, and preparing chicken filets, nuggets, and strips according to strict procedures.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring proper breading consistency, portioning, and appearance.
  • Food Safety: Maintaining proper raw chicken handling, temperature control, and sanitization protocols.
  • Efficiency: Working quickly during high-volume breakfast,  lunch and dinner rushes.
  • Station Management: Cleaning, organizing, and restocking the breading station.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, move continuously, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Skills: High attention to detail, ability to follow strict procedures, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience: Previous kitchen or food prep experience is preferred but rarely required.

What to Expect

Breading is considered a "high-pressure" spot where precision is crucial—if the breader falls behind, the entire kitchen can slow down. It requires working with raw chicken, which can be messy and requires high hygiene standards. It is often described as a fun, team-oriented, yet physically demanding job.
