The Firehouse Subs Assistant Manager position plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the restaurant while ensuring Firehouse Subs standards for people, product quality, cleanliness, and an Exceptional Guest Experience are consistently achieved. As an Assistant Manager, You Will:
- Assist with ordering supplies and maintaining overall restaurant cleanliness and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation including food safety, health & safety, and employment standards
- Enforce and follow established Firehouse Subs operational procedures and brand standards
- Maintain high standards of guest service and hospitality
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and turn potentially negative situations into positive experiences
- Assist in implementing and supporting company incentive and performance programs
- Support staffing and scheduling to ensure proper coverage during all shifts
- Perform floor leadership duties and assist in various operational areas during busy periods to maintain optimal guest service levels
- Help coach, motivate, and support team members to achieve operational goals
- Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and maintain a strong, unified leadership approach with the team
Requirements:
- Frequent reaching above waist, chest, shoulder, and below waist level
- Frequent to continuous use of both hands requiring manual dexterity (handling, gripping, fine finger control, etc.)
- Continuous standing and walking on tiled surfaces throughout shifts
- Ability to stand for extended periods without breaks
- Frequent bending, lifting, and movement during operational tasks
- Occasional lifting of boxes, products, and supplies weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures including walk-in coolers/freezers and kitchen heat environments
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Previous restaurant or quick-service leadership experience is considered an asset
