About The Lawrence Hotel (Hilton Pre-Opening Opportunity)

The Lawrence Hotel, a proud member of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, celebrates the vibrant culture of Lawrenceville while delivering the elevated guest experience synonymous with Hilton. As we prepare to welcome our first guests, we are seeking a dynamic and service-focused Assistant General Manager to lead the guest-facing operation and help establish a culture of excellence across the hotel.

Position Overview

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in overseeing hotel operations, team leadership, and guest satisfaction. This role will have direct oversight of all Front of House operations and valet services, ensuring a seamless arrival, departure, and overall guest experience.

The AGM will also partner closely with the Executive Housekeeper, Chief Engineer, and Restaurant leadership to support operational efficiency, service standards, and overall hotel performance through strong cross-department collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Front of House Leadership

  • Directly oversee Front Desk, Guest Services, Night Audit, and all Front of House operations.
  • Ensure consistent execution of Hilton brand standards and service expectations.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction, online reviews, and service recovery to maintain high performance scores.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the lobby and public areas to engage with guests and team members.
  • Act as Manager on Duty as needed

Valet & Arrival Experience

  • Oversee valet operations to ensure efficient traffic flow, safety, and exceptional guest service.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between valet and Front Desk for arrivals, departures, and VIP handling.
  • Monitor service levels, response times, and guest feedback related to the arrival experience.
  • Manage vendor performance and operational alignment if valet services are outsourced.

Cross-Department Operational Support

  • Partner with the Executive Housekeeper to ensure room readiness, cleanliness standards, and effective communication between Housekeeping and Front Office.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to support preventive maintenance, guestroom quality, and timely resolution of service issues.
  • Work closely with Restaurant and Food & Beverage leadership to ensure alignment on service delivery, guest experience, and operational flow.
  • Support department heads with problem-solving, staffing needs, and operational priorities as needed.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and expense control for Front Office and valet operations.
  • Monitor labor productivity, operating costs, and daily performance metrics.
  • Review operational reports to ensure service, efficiency, and revenue goals are achieved.

Team Development & Culture

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop Front of House team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence.
  • Lead daily stand-ups and operational communication meetings.
  • Promote a positive, engaged work environment aligned with The Lawrence Hotel’s service culture.

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of Front Office and service teams.
  • Support development of operating procedures, service standards, and guest experience protocols.
  • Participate in opening readiness, brand inspections, and operational setup.
  • Help establish the service culture and arrival experience that will define the hotel.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hotel operations leadership experience; Front Office leadership required.
  • Full-service or Hilton experience preferred.
  • Experience overseeing valet, transportation, or guest arrival operations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Front Office systems and Hilton platforms (OnQ/PEP, SALT, or similar).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly service-focused, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
