Director of Food & Beverage

The Lawrence Hotel, a new lifestyle hotel in the heart of downtown Lawrenceville, is seeking an experienced and service-driven Director of Food & Beverage to lead all front-of-house F&B operations. As a Tapestry Collection by Hilton property, The Lawrence blends modern sophistication with Southern hospitality, anchored by Bellfire Restaurant and Old Nick’s Bar.
This role is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage service operations with a strong focus on guest experience, bar operations, catering, and front-of-house execution. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a pre-opening environment, builds strong teams, and delivers elevated, consistent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations across Bellfire Restaurant, Old Nick’s Bar, in-room dining, and banquet and catering events
- Lead all service teams including restaurant, bar, and banquet staff, ensuring high standards of service, presentation, and guest engagement
- Partner closely with the Executive Chef to align service with culinary execution, ensuring a seamless guest experience
- Drive revenue through strong bar programming, upselling strategies, and collaboration with Sales on catering and events
- Work directly with the Sales and Events team to execute group business, meetings, and social events with a focus on service excellence
- Develop and maintain service standards, training programs, and SOPs that align with Hilton and Tapestry brand expectations
- Manage labor, scheduling, and departmental costs to meet financial goals and profitability targets
- Build a strong service culture focused on accountability, consistency, and team development
- Actively engage with guests and clients, handling feedback and service recovery in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, alcohol service, and sanitation standards
- Support pre-opening efforts including hiring, training, outlet setup, and operational readiness
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in food and beverage within a hotel or upscale restaurant environment
- Strong front-of-house leadership experience with an emphasis on bar operations and catering execution
- Proven ability to lead, train, and retain high-performing service teams
- Strong understanding of banquet operations, event flow, and group business execution
- Financial acumen with experience managing labor and departmental budgets
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a hands-on leadership style
- Experience with Hilton systems and brand standards preferred
- Passion for hospitality, guest experience, and creating a vibrant dining atmosphere
